Mars Backs Down After Vegetarian Outcry
Masterfoods, the makers of Mars have abandoned their plans to use an animal derivative in their products after receiving thousands of complaints from upset vegetarians.

It had been stated that the products made by Masterfoods, including Mars Bars, Snickers, Twix, Bounty, Maltesers, Minstrels and Galaxy chocolate, would no longer be suitable for vegetarian consumption, after the company made a switch to a product containing traces of rennet.

The plans were later scrapped as Mars announced it became "very clear, very quickly" that a mistake had been made.

Mars Bars are No Longer Vegetarian
The company who make Mars bars, has announced that its products are no longer suitable for vegetarians.

Masterfoods, who also make household favourites such as Twix, Bounty, Milky Way, Snickers, Minstrels and Maltesers have announced that they are changing a key ingredient in their chocolate to one which is not vegetarian friendly.

Masterfoods have stated that all products with a best before date of 1st October or before are still safe for vegetarian consumption and any already purchased with a later sell by date can be returned and given a full refund.
